Our Story
Reach Pediatric Rehab was born from the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Pham spent the first 6 years of her career at Seattle Children’s Hospital and The University of Washington, where she was exposed to a wide breadth of diagnoses and impairments. Seattle Children’s Hospital served 5 of the surrounding states and so her experience is comprehensive and extensive. The Drs. Pham decided to move back to the east coast during the pandemic and Dr. Pham’s goal was to create a practice that aligned with her goals as a provider. When sitting down to have a think about what that meant, she outlined pillars that define the practice. They are as follows :
- Kindness, patience and compassion
- Care based on the latest research
- Being accessible to my patients when they need me
- Education and guidance for shared decision making
- Collaboration with all members of a care team
In February of 2022, in a single room in Tysons Corner, with a single virtual assistant, Reach Pediatric Rehab, now The Reach Center, was born. As a primarily concierge practice, The Reach Center, aims to provide easily accessible, evidence-based, rehabilitation medicine care and education to both adults and children in the metro-Washington DC area.
In addition to the concierge practice, Dr. Pham co-developed two interdisciplinary clinics to provide more comprehensive care in a single visit. The Toe Walking Clinic is a collaborative clinic aimed at evaluating why a child walks on their toes, and then developing a comprehensive treatment plan. Along with Good Beginnings PT, and Infinite Technologies Orthotists, we provide a one-stop process.
The second interdisciplinary clinic is the Infant Toddler Motor Development Clinic, which was born out of Dr. Pham’s identification that early detection of cerebral palsy was not being done in the metro-DC area. Infants and their families were traveling to Baltimore for this service, which is being done all over the world. Through the use of tools such as the General Movements Assessment (GMA) and the Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE), we are able to diagnose cerebral palsy as early as 3 months of age. Dr. Pham and Shawn Leis, PT with Little Feet Pediatric Therapy, wanted to bring this to the metro-DC area and to make it as accessible as possible.
